Up date on buggy.............................

New member
Now I'm working on the brakes.I took every part of the brake system and put new one,Brake shoe's,wheel cylinder's,brake line's(metal and rubber),Master cylinder, fluid reservoir,If it had any thing to do with brake's,it is new.I think it more important to stop then it is to go.I am enjoying my self monkeying with this stuff.Tomorrow I wil got to Kenny's ( my son) house and pull off a pulley on his motor(dune buggy). He don't have the flywheel lock,But old dad dose.hehehe

Ya'll have fun now

Elson, when you do the rear brakes get front wheel cylinders (22mm) and use the in the back, they bolt right on. Stops better. We never used front brakes, just spindle mount wheels. If by chance you can locate old 5 bolt bus drums for the back, or 411 drums you can switch to the super wide brake shoe. 411's you will need to mill down the snout where the nut tightens but you will be able to skid on pavement with just rear brakes using this setup. If you need to buy a master cylinder get an old 1960's bus unit, it has the resevoir built right on it and makes a super clean setup, no lines from the res. to the cylinder. My guess is you probably know all this already. Looks like you are having fun, I miss buggys!

Some folks just ain't go no class at all. I know if Betty had not been there he would have had VW parts in the sink and tub. Its not that I don't trust him, I just know him too well. And Charlie has him figured out for sure. Ummmm, how come Charlie and Ms. Charlie had hot water and I didn't??

BUT I Don't Think I Would Want Some One (Especially A OLD Cajun) Helping Me, To Open The Door Of My Casket ! ! But When I Do Go I Want To Be Cremated So I Will Be Warm When I Enter The Door To That Hot Room ! !
