Unlikely Depth has launched!

Unlikely Depth

New member
We are really excited to announce that the website for Unlikely Depth--the only PC program written exclusively for your DFX--has now launched.

To celebrate, we are giving away a lot of silver! There's a "best find" contest or you can be one of the first 100 people to like our Facebook page, and you'll get a chance to win a one-ounce silver bar. It doesn't get any easier than that. :)

To join in on the fun, swing by www.unlikelydepth.com.

Good luck!

Michael

Fred,

We are an official sponsor of findmall.com--thanks for asking. ;)

I'm not sure what you mean about Lost Treasure being a sponsor, but we are not affiliated with them.

We'd love to have you participating in the contests.

Good luck!

Everything is cool Fred. A list of our sponsors is here if you ever want to check. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?43,1702883

Unlikely Depth might want to add "Findmall Sponsor" in their signature line.

No, Lost Treasure is not a sponsor, it is not on the list.

Well, with another snow storm in the works and nothing else to do but spend money rather than find it, I ordered the download program. My first opinion is that to some it might be worth the $$ if your a meticulous recorder of events. What it has is a multiple selection of premade formats for all types of searches. And you can make up one (or more) of your own special recording forms. I kinda like it.
But like a new bride, it will take some getting used to.

Thanks for the feedback, Woody. Let us know if you run into any issues. We are working heads-down to put the user guides together. I suspect that will make it a lot more obvious where the power is. :)

How does this interface with a DFX? Or does it not at all, and all settings are just suggestions that must be entered manually?

Basically, this is just a program on a PC, correct? And if I want it with me in the field I need my laptop?

Steve, someone out there might want to take a computer metal detecting, but I don't know them. ;)

We've just put out the first batch of user guides on our website. In reference to your question, I'd refer you to Getting Started for a brief introduction (if you prefer feature lists, check out the Overview page). You may also appreciate the Print Samples page which shows how the types of PDFs you can create for uploading to Google Drive or directly to your phone (completely eliminating paper).

As a point of interest, the sample files contain all of the programs that originally shipped on the DFX.

Mgtmadness,

We've gotten a bit of interest from people with other detectors. One of the technical benefits of Unlikely Depth is that it was designed from the beginning to support multiple detectors. That is, all of the intelligence is maintained in the detectors.dat file. As we add support for other detectors, we can just post a new version of this file and everybody will be able to utilize the added detector support. That way if you've got an XLT, DFX, and a V3i you can create a library for each of them.

If you're interested in assisting with this effort, please send an email to customersupport@unlikelydepth.com and say you're interested in support for the V3i.
