The X70 has several ways to GB.
1. Manual which you all know about.
2. Auto GB which I hope you are familiar with, if not, stop reading here>>>
3. And a third way, which is an Auto type of GB which is faster than lightning.
So if you are a hunter like myself, who has the detector turned on, before you have the car ignition turned off, you're gonna love this. This super fast way is by using Tracking, it will acquire a GB faster than Auto GB.
Here's how it works, when you first push the Tracking button on the X70, it goes into a very fast ground acquire(turbo grab, turbo acquire, fast read, whatever) for about 5 seconds, then it slows down into a hunting speed routine so that you don't track out targets.
So find a target free area, hit the tracking button, swing the coil like you were hunting for 5 seconds and BAM! she's GB'd. You of course can then simply turn tracking off, and you are now locked if you like, or go to manual and tweek the setting if you like.
You can experiment with this(amaze your friends and relatives)by manually adjusting the GB way out, by say 50 points, hit tracking and watch it rocket in while listening to the ooohhs & aaawwwhhs. You'll be very popular and have a crowd gathered round, for say five minutes or so. It would be nice if you bathe the day you plan on putting on this show.
