Yeah,my crazy friend and I were out edge hunting in the school parking lot today and I got a zincoln hit. It was in the ice layer,but since we tend to be a little competitive I started stabbing the ice with my trowel to extract it. I wound up SHATTERING the penny into many pieces,about 7-8,I only found 4 which made up just over half of the coin. Has this ever happened to anyone before? I was a-shocked!
 
Some metals get pretty brittle when cold.
 
I wouldn't think copper would fit into that category but apparently zinc does. I'm assuming it was a zincolin :shrug:
