hi Ron.i found it today in a local park.it def looks old.wouldn't no were to start finding out what it is,i got British coin book,don't think its English or roman
 
Looks like an Ferdinand V and Isabella I (1474 to 1504)Spanish real.
I don't know enough to be able to say if it is an 8 Real (worth around 350.00+) or if it is an 1,2 or 4 real. If I had to take a punt I would go with 8 Real but you need to check with a coin wiz kid.
Either way a nice find.

Hi,i have just looked and your right,it is a Ferdinand V and Isabella coin, there is one in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and worth about
 
Great stuff mate. Might pay to check the area a bit more carefully, just in case, these things rarely got lost on their lonesome.

Hi Bill,its hard to work out what real it is as the coin is very soiled in places,i dont want to mess around trying to clean an old coin like that.I will get some expert advice off a coin expert.cheers Nigel.
