unidentified tag

I found this tag last week at a ghost town in Texas. I've done a google on it but cannot find the history. Google just gave a website to go to. It only contained a pic but no history. Tell me what you think.
 
Is that the exact tag that you found or just a picture of what you found? I looked on the internet at Cagle's Antique and Collectible Corner and saw the exact same tag and it looked exactly like the same picture you posted. HH.

It is the same pic. The one I found is virtually identical. I just have not photographed it yet. On the back side there is ID #.
 
Cagle's called it a key tag and the one they list is for sale for $5. Since they are in the antique business I would say that yours is probably worth the same amount. HH.

I think that IOOF stands for Independent Order of Odd Fellows, which is a fraternal organization such as the Knights of Columbus or the Elks.
