Unexplained- A little Creepy-- The value of some fines ?

3 Days ago got my AT Pro back from Garrett. Went to a well beaten Local park and dug up a Buffalo nickel. {date worn off} Took it home , misplaced it in my basement- can't find it. Coin is lost again. One day later my brother who lives 12 miles away, finds his first buffalo nickel. [NO DATE] Not hard to believe but it's a little funny.
I got Creeped out two days in a row. Went to hunt that park again, I'm the only one parked in the lot. Went to leave-- Theres one other car, Parked right next to me. Okay, next day different park ,same thing, only 2 cars in the lot-- parked side to side. It was a different guy tho. Couple of yrs. ago I'm into hunting this ball field. So I get this feeling, turn around and theres this around 12 yr. old kid . He's about 30 ft away and watching me. So I take a step he takes a step. I dig he stops. Finally I asked him what he wanted. He just stared at me That was it for me not being my town I just dragged up and left.
On a nother note. The value of some fines. Found 2 pretty new frizbees last month. Come across some in a sports store Same size' Their selling for $9- $11 Lucky to give them away. You guys all find golf balls. So after about a doz. I try to find a golfer who wants them. Their not too exicted about em. Wonder why? Last yr. I was lucky enough to find a dia.14k white gold ring. Dealer wanted to give me $85 for scrap. I asked him, How much it's going for over the counter? $1250 abouts. I ended up selling it to a couple living together. They needed a ring, but weren't ready to go a Grand. Sold it for $400 & everyone went home happy. Same thing for Metal detectors. Most time the value drops like a rock not being new. Finds have been a little slow so this is all I got.

Interesting incidents for you.
Typical jewlery sells high over the counter but try to get that price
when you want to get rid off it. Ripoff....

A jewler told me once that they have a300 to 500% markup on things they sell. They sure don,t want to give you anything for a nice ring. I just keep my finds, and send to a refiner.

[size=medium]it's always been a rep-off. diamonds are marked up 1000% from their origginal cost til they sell to you the end buyer. stands to reason Gold will be the same. my wife found that out when she entertained the idea of selling some of her gold. changed her mind she did.

Jewelers remind me of insurance agents. You pay the premiums and then when you file a claim, you're public enemy number one. I told a jeweler one time I didn't mind him making a living, but there's a difference between a living and a killing.
