A couple of months ago, I attended a fund raiser dinner for the Main Street Mission, where my wife and I do volunteer work every Friday. When we approached the hall where the dinner was held, there was a homeless looking person leaned against the building with a sign that read WILL WORK FOR FOOD. About the time that dinner was being served, some one escorted this homeless man in and sat him down at a table next to me. He had on smelly clothes, and looked very un-kept. He kept his head lowered during the meal, and the program to follow. When it came time for the guest speaker to go to the platform no one stood up for a while. After being announce a few times, this homeless person stood up and went to the platform. He was the guest minister whom no one knew. The moral to this story is ( Beware, you never know who you are entertaining ) I felt so ashamed that I was not the one who invited him in. I did have a pic made with him.
