Unexpected Find!

I was metal detecting at an old dam site along the Upper Iowa River. Hoping to find some old coins, with no success. Managed to find a few quarters, dimes and pennies in a two and a half hunt. What I didn't expect to find was the wood box with the seat on! I'll post some pictures of the area along with the surprise I found. Evidently it gets used quite often because of the number of empty rolls laying on the ground. The Upper Iowa River is very scenic and people like to canoe and kayak.

LOL ---- thats got to be for the girls that swim there !!!

Looks pretty old! Get your water detector out, there might be an old swimming area around!
BE SAFE don't go alone!

You are right duggr, this is an old area. It was a popular place for boating and fishing many years ago before the dam was destroyed. Unfortunately I don't have a water detector. I know there had to be a boat landing some where, but with the over growth of weeds and trees it would be hard to find.
