Unexpected Find In Scoop!!!

Went out on a very windy day to two different spots. Dug up a few sinkers and a some change at the first spot and then I got a signal and scooped up allot of gravel, I shook out all of the sand and saw what looked like a stone arrowhead head and sure enough it was. I have a collection at home but this is the first I have ever found. I have a book on stone points and identified it as a Brewerton Corner Notched point, it is nicknamed a Freeheley in Michigan, it is was made 4000 to 6000 years ago, also did more research on the Internet to verify it. The second area I found lots of .30 cal casings and bullets and other types of bullets, also found a 1943P war nickle and other odds and ends. Not much finds for the outing but the arrowhead made my day. Happy hunting.

If I ever found one I would have probably dumped it out looking for coins! I still do not know how they date those critters. Seems fishy. FANTASTIC Kevin

Greg was with us also and found a very rare fishing lure. So rare one sold for over 15 hundred dollars. I hope he posts it.

I on the other hand found new coins and lots of 30 cal's and also a 50 cal head. Ohh and I found 3 more fins to another bomb. I hope to find another bomb out there somewhere!

awesome, you must have a very keen eye to have noticed that one.... looks like a battle ground with all those bullets and now an arrowhead showing up..... i find one every few years in the farm fields, but to be able to find one in the scoop is incredible...congrats..

Scoop Dog: I found some examples in my book and it looks like Obsidian with the holes and white spots, but it could be a rough piece of flint like you said. The Obsidian on the net looks glassy blk, but the examples in the book look like mine, so I am confused.
