Unexpected Find! Awesome!!!! More Pics!!!

Got off work a little early today and decided to go out geocaching up in the foothills, so then I decided to take the QDII and maybe if I'm lucky I might find a meteorite while I'm trekking through the desert. Nothing but trash on the way up so on the way back I got well off the trail, about a 100 yds later, the detector goes off, tried to pinpoint but it was long but narrow, so I stared scraping rock and dirt away and about 2 or 3 inches down, this is what I found!!!!

I can't find any markings or anything, don't know anything about them, but it sure is cool!!! Searched around for another half hour, but didn't find anything else.....That's OK, this is well worth it!

Not a marking on it anywhere, But like I said, still Cool!!!!

wow, motojoe, it's an old sword! man... looks like an old one too. look for markings near where the pommel used to be. that will tell you a lot. wtg, and hh,

Almost looks like the long swords the Calvary Officers carried on horseback...VERY nice find....

Not sure, but you might want to show that to a local museum or Civil War collectors club ...They might even be interested in buying it...
