Underwater pin pointer

Water wizard

New member
Does anyone know if there is such a thing as an underwater pin pointer? My pro pointer saves me valuable time on land, and I'm going to be searching in shallow water where there are many rocks. An underwater pro pointer would be great, is there such a thing? Where can I buy one? Many thanks water wizard

Yes there is the "Vibra" series by Treasure Products. There are 3 different models...all waterproof, submersible to 100 feet. Multiple forum sponsors carry them. I plan on picking one up myself rather then try and waterproof one of my Garrett Pro-Pointers.

Thanks CJ, I just checked out the website, it looks like they manufacture good quality kit... Shame I'm going away in 5 days, wish I could take it on this trip....

Hey chipmonky. I thought about that, could work..... But if it fails my pro pointer is a goner! Do you have to turn the pinpointer on under water? I seam to remember trying it once and as soon as I put the pinpointer in the water it signalled a target. Cheers mate, I fly on Thursday....

CJ which probe do you have? I am assuming the Vibra probe 580. What depth do you get? Do you use it in the dirt? They have a new probe with a two in coil,Vibra Quatic 2. I am considering this for dirt and the beach. Any comments would be appreciated. Anyone else fell free to comment, especially anyone who has a Vibra Quatic 2. Thanks Charles.

Charles mine is the 580 and I use it with my sifter to locate tiny targets that my old eyes miss.

Depth isn't an issue, but being water-proof is. (I posted a mod in the Finds Mod forum over a year ago about adding a switch so I can avoid the annoying delay necessary in starting and stopping the unit and saving batteries too.)

I have a ProPointer for the dry and am very pleased with it.

Regards and good luck,

CJ
