Well I made the jump today and ordered a lifetime warranty 1280x from the poster(this forum) who said he still stocked them. It was a choice between this or the tesoro tiger shark...battery life was a factor. Minelab has repair issues, and as a scuba diver I want a rugged machine with a warranty. I hope I made the right choice.
