Ummm clueless....what is this????

Found this relatively shallow in the ground but at an old 1880 farm house. Any clue? It is pretty heavy like about 2-3 lbs. It does not stick to a magnet and it is 7.5" in diameter.
 
Look kind of like a canteen. Does it have two layers as if it were hollow at one time and then smashed? Here is a girl scout canteen, its different but shows the possibility...

Yes... I do believe it is some kind of lid. Someone on the other forum mentioned it could be an old milk container lid. Kind of like this one: http://www.colourbox.com/image/antique-milk-jug-isolated-on-white-background-image-1854001

Lid of some type seems most likely. Thanks for the input!!
