Ultimate 13 inch OR NEL Tornado

Ok I'm looking at buying a larger coil. I narrowed it down to the NEL Tornado or the Ultimate 13. Just wondering who has experience with both and what the pros and cons are. THANKS!!!!

I used the 13" ultimate. Not a bad coil. Not as well built as nel coils.. Must keep cover on the ultimate coil.. My buddy uses nel tornado and very well built, better warranty, cheaper price, no need for a cover as per company, weighs less than ultimate. Nel is better in emi problem areas.. The older Nels were heavier however they changed the build and made them lighter...

Thanks Bill. Any idea as far as depth and separation? I know every manufacturer says they have the best, this is why I'm here looking for ral world experiences.

I would say very close in both departments. Nel maybe deeper.. Warranty 1 year ultimate, 2 year nel...

If you narrowed it down to NEL... then your done. The Ultimate is made by Detech not NEL.
I have the Ultimate and love it.

I think sometimes it is the operator not the coil. I believe that U can have a detector and not fully know how to operate it. I have had moments where I was why did I use that setting. Find out I was missing targets due to my settings. I look at other detectors but told myself, Why not learn the 2 machines I got instead of looking for another machine or coil.

FWIW I have an Ultimate and a buddy had the Tornado on his Etrac. The Tornado had a lot of EMI problems in one area. I hunted the same place a few minutes later and the Ultimate was quiet and stable.
