Ultimate 13 D-Tech Coil observations...

I have put 20+ hours on this coil and I'll just share my thoughts on it...good and bad.

Things I like about it...

It goes deeper than the pro coil
Identifies deeper targets more accurately than the procoil
Target seperation is excellent...and I would have to say more crisp than the procoil

Things I dislike...

After 4-5 hours of swinging it...rigormortise sets into right arm
not a fan of the color...white

I think this coil will stay on the etrac unless I have a need to put on the x-5 for really trashy sites. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it or not because in the area I was hunting I coudln't run it at +3 in auto or it would be falsing on iron...dug plenty of it to prove the theory...then backed it down to A or -1 and it was smooth and deep with no falsing again. Cant wait to get into some good ground and see what this monster will do.

Overall I think it was a good move to go with this coil, definitely an improvement over the stock coil and was seeing targets that a CTX with stock coil struggled with. I had better ID at depth than he did...we both agreed on that. Now to swing it over some old silver coins and quit digging all this darn clad!

You should like it noticeably more than the stock coil. If you are a coin hunter you will really appreciate what it can do. If you are a relic hunter...your swinging arm will get a little more of a workout than usual...but both situations...better performance and more enjoyment from your etrac!

Just got it today and figure it's raining. Big difference in size of stock coil.
Have been to places that you have used your stock coil?

i got that coil wed. too.
. Went out and played with it yesterday in yard (snow was starting to melt), didn't find anything good. I looks as though it is going deeper than stock coil. Now today its snowing hard and i was hoping to go out all day..PFFFF

Yes hunted places I hunted with stock coil. It goes deeper and Identifies deeper and in my opinion seperation is also more crisp. Unless I put the x-5 on for the real trashy spots...this will stay on my etrac.

I have been using the Ultimate for a while now and on my Etrac it runs at the same sensitivity as the Pro coil but then my latest Pro coil is a bit hotter than the first one I had. Very good coil, my favorite to use between the 6 coils I have used on my Etrac. I have found that if I can't get a good hit in two directions it has always been trash. I also use the X-1 so it's easy to tell its trash when you it.

I didn't like the white either, so I painted mine with satin black Fusion paint.. looks a lot better that way. masked off the stickers, and taped up the cable/connection. It looks like it came that way. I was concerned about it chipping off, but I hunt in grass mostly, so it still looks great. If you were a beach hunter, I don't think it would hold up at all.
