Does anyone have any idea on how I can use a Vibra probe 580 with my ML SE as the noise is driving me mad, I have tried anything I could think of to stop the noise to no effect, I use a harness so I cannot get the detector head far enough away from the probe to stop interference.

Ive used the Vibra Probe..... yep you are dealing with a PI and i had to move the coil a LONG ways away. One disadvantage to not having an in line probe. Not to mention i didnt like how mine would come on in the truck on occassion and id hear that silly buzz and wonder what the heck that sound was. You cant noise cancel them and hated having to take off my head phones..... lets not even get into the difference in depth between the two.

There might be nothing you can do to stop the interference.

You might want to switch to a Garrett Pro Pointer. It is perfectly compatable with the Explorer and is the best pinpointer out there.
