My 6 month only 8 inch mono seems to be playing up. Detection range is very low and the coil is super noisy. Have cleaned the connectors etc no avail. Stock coil is perfect. May need to send this one back to garrett also. Is it me or does your 8 inch mono run fairly quiet?

I need to put the sensitivity down to below half way to get any repeatable targets through the clutter of constant noise!

Hey dmnz,

My DD Coil did the same thing ... got very noisy and I checked everything. Garrett replaced it ... problem solved.

Garrett may send you a replacement first with a return postage label to send your defective coil back ... they did that for me, but I'm in this country, not sure if it matters, so try it!!

I see you have a Cyclone heading your way.
Even though it will not be as strong by the time it get to you, the high swells may rip open your beaches and dump out another 100 gold rings :)

dmnz! Tell us the story on how your hunting beaches fared through the storm and how your beaches look now?

Show us photos! :) We like photos!.... Before and after photos of your hunting areas if you have them.

Even your bays should have had some erosion with the high winds and high tides.

Hi guys...went out yesterday and for some reason the storm seems to have acted in reverse! Two of my favourite beaches are now totally awash with sand. Where a few weeks ago there was a relatively thin sand layer in the water....now a foot or more deep. Both last hunts revealed very little! Back to the drawing board today...an another beach. Lucky....we have loads to choose from!
