U getting what U want out of life ?

I took my gold cross to the jewelers and they said no diamonds. It's still a neat find, all gold.
Then I thought about my life - why do I sometimes want more than the Lord has in store for me ? I believe that if He wanted to give me more than I have in life then He would. But we cry & moan that we dont have this or that.

I said a prayer before I entered the jeweler's today that if it were diamonds - great. But if they were not -then great. Why cant we be happy with what the Lord is giving us in all areas of our lives ? He says in the Bible "My grace is sufficent for you". And I am trying to live by that when wants arise. I guess I'm more concerned with wants than needs as I know He will provide my needs. Maybe I'm too greedy & need to work on that.

Pastor Steve! You are very right! I think we all do it. I find myself praying often on my way to detect, saying thank you for letting me being able to go enjoy the hobby that I like so much, thank you for the frind that I am going to meet with, may we honor you this day, and if we find treasure great! If we don't then great! Amen!

from coveting what our neighbors have...God knows our every need and will supply our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus! And if it is His good pleasure than He will also give us our wants, when it won't harm or cause us not to trust in or lean on Him!

You have been blessed in many ways and are a good detectorist, but the finds that have the Lord's hand print on them with His love are from Him!
Paul tells us to be satified in whatever circumstance we find ourselves in...for as you say, "God's grace is sufficient"! May He bless you with many more great finds....but use godly wisdom and don't overdo to the detriment of your health! Jesus loves you!!!!

God Bless & Happy Hunting!

Php 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

1Ti 6:8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

To answer your question Steve, I'm getting what I need from my Lord and to want something is to say God isn't giving me enough...or I am not satisfied with what He has given me.

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Don't have a desire to make my Father or my Lord feel I am ungrateful for what they have provided and continue to provide.

Even though I am in need of surgery I know that is a need and not a want and I know God will somehow, sometime meet that need - in His time. With that, I am content.

Glad you mentioned this Steve.
