:twodetecting: Finally finished that mega clad tot lot

Well after a week of thinking about that tot lot with all the clad coins literally every step, my grandson and I went there this last Saturday and cleaned up. It is kind of typical that a young kid will be bored in short order, however I figured he would at least find some fun in finding money and the possibility of jewelery even though it will be kid stuff. After an hour he was playing on the swings and other fixtures there. He is a computer junkie to the max, it's all he does when he visits us for the weekends and holidays. Well it is what it is. I hope to get to the beach this month on the 19th which is supposed to be maximum tide high and lows, and should be really good for hunting in the near surf and sand areas. Hope it does pan out. I and my grandson found about 9.47 in clad two tokens and one lonely 1944 wheatie. HH

Thanks Bart, but I can't take all the credit, it's those wonderful kids at the school who loose their change for me to find, I will have to keep this lot in mind for a end of year clad hunt. I am going to the beach this weekend and see what is available for my new 11 inch coil, which is going to arrive today, I hope.

Nice haul there.

Nice group of coins, hope it re-seeds for you soon.

That's a good hunt right there! Way to go!

the Delta for your share of the coins? If so, was it with just the stock 8" concentric coil, or did you use a 5"?

Monte

Monte, I used the 5 inch coil on the delta, love that coil, my grandson used the 505 with the 4 inch coil and if he was a bit quick on his sweeps he did ok for his first real hunt, however it's hard for him to stay on task being ADHD and all. He's a good kid, just gets bored easily. I'm going to take the delta to the beach this Saturday and try both the stock coil and 11 inch coils to compare how much difference they are for the beach hunt. I think the 8 inch will be more effective, but we shall see.
HH to all.
