:twodetecting: F70, Slow & Fast mode :surprised:

This is the auto tune speed. The speed that the circuit re-sets it's self to maintain settings, mainly the S.A.T. Your Threshold tone.

The default is Fast mode, and it would better for you to sweep somewhat briskly. This gives you a fast sweep unit to hunt trashy areas.

In the Slow mode the circuit takes longer to reset it's self. This mode gives the detector a bit more time to analyze the target area before reseting. It tends to be the deeper mode. A slower sweep may be required using this mode.

In testing the F70, I discriminated out the complete range to #65. Going over to Slow reset speed, help me recover some of the depth I loss going to full discrimination. It made a noticeable difference.

hi bill!
there is depth loss in full discriminate?..does this fact also apply to the f-75?..if so,..why?

There was a depth loss at full discrimination with the F70.

As far as I am aware, it does not apply to the F75. The F70, and the F75 are different detectors. There not even close to each other.

Bill you make it sound like the F70 is just another "average" mid priced VLF. Hopefully that is not the case and it will have something in the way of performance to set it apart from the competition.

HH Tom

The F70 is what it is. It was never meant to be a less expensive F75. Please don't read into my post anything different than what I wrote.

More likely It's designed to fill a price range between the F4 & the F75.

Bill,

Perhaps it would be good for someone to compare it to the "old" Fishers mid priced machines such as the ID Edge. That would serve us better as to what we can expect performance wise.

thanks
Tom

Perhaps someone else will. I have no disire to, it's all I can do to get any detecting time in.

Hi Jeff

ID Edge, F70.

Your a Fisher dealer. Want to take a shot at it ?? Not certain exactly what the benefit would be, but hey, go for it. :) :) :)

i repeat as well!..:not even close to each other!"..can you elaborate on this!..inquiring minda want to know!..thanks!

i agree!..i know bill ladd would give an accurate assesement of both of them,if he has the time!

would be very interesting test though as both those detectors you really can't go wrong at that price point.......
