Went hunting in the woods of the park today , to the area where I have had the most success . I set the Vaquero with stock coil up . I forgot to turn the sensitivity up . So I was hunting in all metal and the sens at 1 . I found the first coin a 1917 D penny and I just knew it was going to be a coin . I figured at least six inches deep with the way it sounded when I switched to disc . I was surprised that it was only about three inches deep . Thats when I discovered that the sens. was only set at 1 . So now that I have the sens set at 10 , all metal set to barely quiet , gb neutral, I continued the hunt . Down along the creek I picked up a 1915 S penny . Found it in all metal , switched to disc to get a different sound , and there it was a sweet deep coin signal . This time it was about 6 inches down . The 1915 S filled an empty spot in the coin book . I always get excited to get a wheat here as I have found two 1914 D pennys in the same area and they are rare. When hunting in all metal I like to run the machine silent but barely . I know thats not how it is recommended but its the way I like it and thats what counts .In disc I turn the threshold up to a low hum .
