Two Tokens!

Man it was cold with the wind yesterday! I hunted a corn field site that the 1863 maps show a residence, but the 1872 maps don't show it. It was a nice "clean" hunt. The only modern trash I dug was a stinkin' Lincoln! There were not many non-ferrous signals but I did manage a patriotic token and a store card (shown with the reverse to the left). I really like the patriotic one. It is the first one I've found with "The Constitution Must And Shall Be Preserved". I also dug two buttons and a few do-dads. It was fun, especially once the sun came out and I stopped shivering. Should have put on my longies.

For those who read my post about "Generosity bit me in the..." - I was wrong. The farmers wife graciously gave me permission to hunt two sites! She was also happy about the red beats I picked for them.

Take care and HH - BF

Hey B-F,

Nice finds! The top token is a Patriotic Civil War token and looks to be Fuld #9/405 (obverse/reverse). If it's copper, it is an R6 rarity (21-75 known) and if it's brass, it's R8 (5-10 known). It is sometimes hard to tell the metal, especially from being in the ground so long. The other token is a Store Card and it is from Niles Michigan and appears to be Fuld MI 700A-1a, with an R6 rarity. These are nice finds and pretty scarce pieces. WTG!
