Well, I hit a town swimming hole that is near a couple mill sites. I really wanted to hit this 1850's house I recently received permission to hunt at, but as it was fairly early in the morning, I opted for a more secluded spot so as not to disturb anyone. Oddly enough, this spot gave more the older finds. I found a merc, 3 wheaties, a 4H pin, and the front half of a led horse that was painted with a goldish paint. The 1850's house was very trashy, and has been rented out for a long time. Also, the front yard had my detector going crazy so close to the road and power lines. I did find a silver washington quarter, but other than that it was a bust. I only spent a few hours there and I was rushing around the house and from tree to tree trying to figure the place out. In retrospect I wonder if I should have just stayed put in a 50 square foot area. They are residing and putting up aluminum gutters so there are snips of it everywhere, Made for hard hunting near the house, on top of the huge iron field most older houses have. Well enjoy the pics, I had a great time!
