Two Silver Ladies Today:

Nancy-IL

Well-known member
We went back for a short hunt. Didn't last long, but did manage to rescue these two ladies. That silver sure is pretty when coming out of the ground! I did manage to get 3 Wheaties also. Oh, and a handful of clad. Total of 6 silver coins taken from the yard so far. Hopefully many more to come. Thanks for looking.

Ah the beauty of silver and to top it off they are my favorite silver coins. Continued good luck at that site. HH Dennis in Idaho

Nancy,
With your detecting skills, these 2 ladies are no longer in waiting. Congrats!! What are the dates on these 2 beauties? Any mint marks? They look to be in fine shape.
Pete in NC

Thanks Pete. They're not too old. 1941-S and 44 with no mint mark.

We're hoping to get back to the property soon. But with school (work) starting tomorrow, don't know when we'll get to it. Also the humidity is terribly high.

How's that MXT doing for you?

HH to all.

Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the update. I didn't have a chance to use it this past weekend as the bride of 30 years and I went to Wash. DC for the weekend. The weekend before that I found a couple bucks in clad and and interesting braided necklace in the wood chips at a local school. I'm pretty sure the necklace is gold plate and not solid gold (no markings on it whatsoever), but need to run it by a jeweler to find out for sure. It is heavy! Thanks for asking!

The winged liberty head dime is the "real" name. It's also known as the Mercury dime. As in Miss Liberty. "The wings crowning her cap are intended to symbolize liberty of thought." Mercury is just a common nickname.

Cute, Sangamon.............teaches him not mess with a Redhead. :please:

You are doing well on the Silver.Hows the other half doing???
Nice finds.

Thanks Elton. Larry is doing quite well also. He's found his oldest coin ever, 1804 silver dollar from England. Yes, it says "dollar" on it. It's one heck of a find. And also 3 other silver dimes. We'll be going back soon and dig lower VDI targets soon.

Way to go Larry. That must have been pretty exciting.
