Two Saturdays hunts

Had a great two Saturdays hunting. First 2 pictures are of the first Saturday, the last ones are from this Saturday's hunt. Total 20 hours hunting time, but it payed off well. This park has been great to me over the years and still can turn up some surprises, as in the out of character colonial items found this time. The four coppers are: a Connecticut copper, (2) British George coppers, and a 1794 token from Talbot, Allum and Lee. But the trash is up there too. And this was selective trash digging.:rant:Hope everyone gets a chance to get out soon. HH

Good hunts coinnut. Really nice silvers and coppers.

hi coinnut!

Un-real finds for a park- I would baby step that place. I have hunting for 9 years & have yet to turn up a Barber dime. Congrats!

In what state is it?

Or on what planet, to be more precise?

This place I have done for years. It has produced hundreds of Indians and close to a hundred Barber dimes. A bit stingy on the quarters (about 10 barbers and 2 standing libs) 8 or 9 seated dimes. Tons of Wheats, mercs, V's and a couple of shield. 2 Barber halves, 1 Seated and one Walking lib half. Not your average park. One of the most popular places to go and picnic around 1900. It's just about done. I have to really hit it hard to get these results and sometimes I get skunked. Gold is a bit stingy here too. Only 2 rings w no stones. NO gold coins!! Giving it a rest because the weeds are as tall as me in some spots. Going colonial hunting this Sat. There will be a lot less found there. HH

hi coinnut...i have been looking at upgrading. i currently have a pioneer 202 (entry level) and think i would really like the DFX. been really hinting hard to the wife but before i make that commitment, could you please tell me if i would be going from a Volkswagen to a caddy or to a Yugo :) thanks. monster

Great job, coinut. Love those Barbers and Seated Liberty. Just goes to show that nothing is ever really hunted out.

It's actually like going to a Lexus. I love my DFX. It can be simple with it's factory pre sets, or beefed up a bit with just a couple of minor adjustments or really in depth (if you read Jeff Foster's book, you will know what I mean). If I could only own 2 machines It would be the DFX first (for it's speed and ease) and the Minelab Explorer for it's excellent capabilities (though a bit heavy and different to use) Learning curves on both, but let's face it , look at both forums on the DFX and Minelab, and see what everyone is finding. I think that will say it all! They consistently find goods!!! Good luck, and you know it is an addiction?

Great finds coinnut, well deserved after digging all that trash, awesome 2 hunts, congrats on the silver and coppers WTG:thumbup:
