Two Quick Questions

I have read about a protective screen cover on new units (for shipping purposes), and although my display was wrapped in bubble plastic, it not have any screen cover and I thought this was a little odd.

My real question is on charging the unit. It seemed to charge normally, but when it was completed after a few hours, it only went to a steady green light, without the check-mark lighting up. Is this because of the partial charge it is shipped in?

The battery seems fully charged, so I'm not worried about it, just more curious than anything else.

The green check mark is just a decal that does not light up. It shows that a steady green light is a full charge.

I use a cell phone protector that can be purchased for a dollar and cut to size. Buy the covers for phones not current and they are dirt cheap, I use the Galaxy S cover.

Neil, don't feel bad. You're not the first, nor will you be the last.

This subject was brought up just a short time ago. Do youself a BIG favor. Grab a beer or a cup of coffee and
pull up a chair............there about 74 pages of topics/posts on this forum now with more infomation than you
can absorb in one sitting, but well worth the time. I've been through them twice and will probably do so again.
I also created a file and every time I come across a post or thread that turns on a light in my head I copy and
paste to the file for future reference. Good luck and have fun with your new detector.

The battery in the CTX-3030 last a lot longer than the Explorer batteries. I used mine for 7 hours, still showed over half power left, it charged in two hours.

Funny story on the display protection on the CTX. Mine was shipped with a cover on it, the only problem I did not remember reading any where about removing it? so while detecitng at the beach we got a terrific storm, it was literally raining sideways. I thought I,m ok, the CTX was in water mode, headphones and all, so I just kept detecting. After it cleared and the sun came out, I thought my display was going bad, look like water had got behind it. It did, but it was only the protective cover. After removing it all is well.
