TWO QUESTIONS

Does the book,"The MXT Edge", really help?

How fast is the recovery of the MXT?

am looking for a back-up or maybe it will be my primary.

I got the book a few months after I got my mxt and yes there is some good reading in it to help to me it's well worth the money you'll find information in it that would take you years to search on the net.
You'll prob have to read it several times for a lot of it to make sense or that the way it's been for me I'll read it then after using the mxt a few times read it again and it comes to me some of the things I didn't understand.

As for my mxt it will always be my primary detector for the price range I just don't see anything that could out do it and I don't really think the more expensive ones can just walk all over it.
Now that's just my opinion and that's on multi purpose detectors not a specialty machine in the area it's designed for.

And as for your question on recovery speed the mxt has a very fast recovery you can easily pick up targets side by side in places where this happens often I have found my little shooter coil to be an excellent choice.

RounderRick said it all. I can't add anything more.

i know what you mean regards to re-reading again and again and understanding more after trying out the machine and re-reading with better understanding each time. for now i'm doing that with my xlt. i'm tempted to try the fisher f70 or the x-terra 705. i've been told the minelab has a lagging signal. the whites line has proven to me it's a well made product. if it has the fast recovery then i'm sold. just need to sell the dog. or save the money. i'm gunna miss that dog..

thanks for the replies.

Hey you can also go to the whites website at http://whiteselectronics.com/videos/mxt-instruction.html and watch the videos on the mxt they don't explain near as much as the mxt edge book but it is a good video and you can kinda get an idea of how fast the recovery speed is.

Great book...even better detector.

well i've seen the videos for the dfx, xlt and the old mxt and the new ones with improved mxt pro. i can't say i've seen any definitive showing or test of any of these on whites videos.

i've picked my xlt because of you tube videos by regton detectors. they only had the dfx and xlt. he didn't show any test for the mxt. there's a nice showing for the fisher f75 by another fellow on a snow pack. none of these are in the ground showings.at least as far as recovery speeds. i am surprized at the lack of videos on recovery time since it is so important. i just thought how beneficial videos showing the same machine with varios coils do in differant locations. the pros and cons. i have a ton of ideas. could use a ton of money to make these videous. would have to buy all those coils and machines. or people with cameras could post their findings with their machines. just using out of the box programs with differant size coils. gotta have a standard measurement.just an idea.
