two questions on explorer battery life...

what kind of hunting times are you guys getting from the stock explorer nimh paks? mine seems to be losing life, as the battery indicator starts dropping after only an hour or so. i doubt i could get 5 nonstop hunting hours out of it, but since i never get to hunt 5 hrs straight i'm not sure. only once has it gone completely dead, and then the machine gave me a warning sound.
question #2, i've read that regular nimh AA cells work well in the alkaline pak. my problem is i don't have a way to charge them. do you charge them individually or what? seems like kind of a hassle to take 'em out, charge 'em two or four at a time, then put 'em back in. can you take the explorer rechargeable pak apart and insert new batteries? (i guess that's three questions. ) hh to all.

Check out the link below on our Q-12 Econo Charger. It comes with a Explorer Battery Station and you can load your Alkaline holder with NIMH cells and charge it as you would the recharge pak.

I bought one of them for my explorer and it's sweet When it's done charging it goes on trickle charge

This same charger will work on the Sovereign battery, the Excallibur and the Explorer, plus the Whites 12 volt packs too. With the battery station that come with the Q 12 it is so easy to charge the battery and usualy in around 4 hours too and then goes to a pulse trickle charge you you have a perfect charge everytime.
I have my rechargeable pack plus two set of Nickle hydrides in the alkiline packs I carry with me, this way if my wifes MXT battery goes bad I can switch them with one of my pack, and if mine do too I have a set for me too and recharge when I get back home.

I wouldn't be without my Q-12 charger. It charges the Minelab 1600mah NiMH in about 4 hours. My Sun Ray NiMH (1650mah) in 4.3 hours. I am 100% satified with mine and we sell a lot of them. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
