Yep, Lanny, this little Aussie is still in "Oz". No that's not my new rig. That one belongs to a mate of mine. He's a Kiwi. AKA a New Zealander. He found a new patch in those MOUNTAINS!!
I do have a new rig now that my missus and I are both retired. Ann wanted some comfort - well my sons insisted that I buy something decent for her highness to travel in. So the old Fod Maverick is gone (broke my heart that did) and we now travel in a turbo diesel Toyota Landcruiser. This tows my new 11' 6'' offroad caravan (trailer). The old camper trailer is parked up and due to be fixed up and sold - another broken heart.
We found a couple of ounces out on our last trip. It was a short trip and it was a well flogged area - but when yer as good as me at using a "bipper" well, it's easy eh! Most of it was less than 3 gramme peices with one nice 8 grammer. That got sold on eBay a few weeks back. I must see if I can find some pics of those bits.
My old aboriginal mate George is still going strong and "bippin" as well as ever. Using my old SD2200D (well it belongs to him now - he's had it for that long!), he found a very nice 13 ounce piece a few months back - but got swindled out most of the money. He trusts people too much.
Ann & I are each using GP3500s. Ann is over the moon that we're back out full time "bippin".
Good to hear from you again, Lanny.
Take care,
