First part has to do with battery niMH 1500ma.Will temps below 40 degs. have any effects on longevity ???
compared to normal usage temps.
Second part has to do with Fact.coil.......
Does the bottom darker plastic protective shield come off of the coil?????
If so How ???I wanna clean it and seal it with a clear silicone to keep sand & other dirt outta it.

Yes, it comes right off. I say rip that bottom cover off and leave it off. Soil and water get between the cover and coil bottom and can make the machine unstable.

Yes. Generally, lower temperatures will make nimh cells deliver lower volts. The capacity is still in there but depending on who made the cells, the voltage could be so low that it trips the low voltage alert on the machine. If this happens to you, put them in your pant pockets and warm them up, making sure you dont have your car keys in that same pocket or else something else will be heating up. Fried eggs anyone?
Rgds, bing

I have taken coil cover off, cleaned and put back on. It only took a few minutes to do. I leave it on just to have it there to protect bottom of coil.
