Hi dobbie,

The Vibra-Probe works great ! I'm not just saying that because I own one. It really reduces target recovery time and frustration, adding to my enjoyment. As other folks have said who bought the 560 model, before the new 570 came out," I wouldn't leave home without it ! ". Treasure Products added two new features to the 570, i.e. Detection Depth Stability - New advanced circuitry maintains the unit's detection distance throughout the life of the battery and Low Battery Indicator - Built in low battery sensor alerts you when the battery is low and needs replacing. They also changed the color of several parts to yellow, which I personally feel would be easier to find in the grass if inadvertently left behind.

I bought mine from Tony Cwikla at T.C. Metal Detectors, on September 20, 2007, for $129.95. Prior to purchase, I reviewed the (9) different makes/models listed below. The Treasure Mate was the most expensive on my list of "possibles", but at $179.00, I passed it up and went for the Vibra-Probe 570, as it's forerunner, the 560, had been getting great reviews and the 570 was less money. I liked it's fully automatic operation, no dials, switches or buttons to mess with, built very strong and waterproof under water to a depth of 30 feet.

- Automax Precision V4
- Bounty Hunter TEK
- Fisher f4
- MD detectors, model MD-2002
- Tinytec UltraLuxe Probe
- Treasure Mate
- Vibra-Probe 570
- White's Electronics, Bullseye
- Wizard Industries, Wizard Vib-Probe (handgun shaped)

I started a thread on August 19, 2007 on T'Net, titled "Pinpointers Sold in the USA", to get opinions on the pinpointers I had selected. The original list started out with six and three more were eventually added to complete the list you see above. There were many responses from members that helped me to make a decision. If you care to read through the thread, the following directions will take you there. You are allowed to browse the forums, even if you are not a registered member at T'Net, you just can't post a reply.

DIRECTIONS: Go to T'Net website and click-on Forum > Our Community board > General Discussion forum > Forum page #11 (As of this posting date.) > Scroll down page #11 to: Topic "Pinpointers Sold in the USA".

Good luck with whatever you decide on dobbie ! I hope this reply helps.
