I was detecting some road construction a couple of weeks ago and saw a police officer coming my way. Wasn't sure it was for me so I kept detecting. It was for me. Someone had called. I explained that the terraces are public property. He agreed, but wanted me to check with city hall so if it happens again we can say it is ok with the city.
Last Wednesday I stopped in at city hall and inquired. All kosher as far as they were concerned. We even looked through the city ordinances.
I wonder how many times I've had my driver's license run in situations like this. Hope this isn't raising any flags in any database. But I'm clean. However I now have a $15 late charge from the library, so as a hardened criminal next time might not be so sweet.
Anyways went back to the same city and finished the construction. There was a section of the street where I could not run above 8 or 9 without things going crazy. Both sides of the street. No major power lines, not sure what was going on. 50 yards either way and could get back into the 20s.
As usual, if I saw anyone working in their yard I asked for permission to do their lawns.
I found two dime spills; both Merc/Barber. And interestingly enough both Barbers were 1916-s. One was with a 1917 merc, the other a 1920.
Towards evening got a deeper hit. Probed it with the periscope at 7" or so. Felt a big disc and was thinking a half dollar, but no.... A 1856 Large cent. Not expecting that but was pleased none the less.

It was getting dark and cold and there was much doggy-doo to navigate so I called it a day. Maybe tomorrow.

BTW. Girlfriend wanted a growlight installed over the kitchen sink and some glass shelving so we could keep some herbs growing. I love to cook and having fresh Thai basil and cilantro handy is a good thing. Lighting looks a little different to the eye, but to the camera... Wow. Was really surprised when I uploaded the photos how different it looked from light from a standard bulb.
