My buddy Lee and I went to a secret island to do some beach detecting. I'm not crazy about beach hunting, but it was a chance to get out and swing a coil. There was a slight rain coming down and after about an hour of nothing between us we decided to head back through this town and check out an old school that is now gone. We saw that there was some bulldozing being done on our way to the beach and when we stopped on the way back they were working!!!! Who the heck works on a Sat for crying out loud!!! Well, that was let down number two. We got back closer to home and it started to clear up some and we hit this place where some old housing use to be. A lot of construction going on there, but nobody working. Lots of dirt has been moved around and the pickings were pretty slim with all the metal crap all over the place from the demolition, but we didn't get skunked. Lee got a merc right off the bat and a couple of wheats and I got two wheats also dated 27 and 49. Then I got a fairly good signal and dug up this large disc. Wasn't sure what it was till I cleaned it a bit and saw that it was a 1922 N.W. Merchants Convention 20 bucks token. I think this event was held in Seattle WA, but I'm not sure. I tried to find out just what the token was for on the internet, but no such luck.
Hey tokendigger...................... can you help me out on this one? Anyway, it was a cool find and I really dig those old tokens. I'm posting a picture of what this token should look like that I got off of the internet. Wish mine was in a little better condition, but that's what happens when things like that have been in the ground for many years. Thanks for looking fellows and HH to everyone.
