Two items in a Nth Cal museum.

I know the lady that runs the museum in a little northern Calif town and I stopped buy this morning to say hello. She asked if I new what these two objects are. I said

The silver/aluminum colored thing looks like part of a Coleman lantern where you hang the mantel. I would use the other thing to separate yolks so my WAG is extended yolk separator

Could the tin thing be a funnel for pooring candle wax into molds?
