Two Harvested Predators

Ant

Member
I harvested this bobcat last December, and I took the coyote the winter before last. I called in the bobcat with a cottontail in distress call made by circe, and took him at 70 yards with a .17 HMR shot to the neck. The coyote got his at 285 yards. I

I love hunting predators.that reminded me of a time i gave a good friend of mine a cd
i had made! LOL I told him it was a distress call.
Evidently he never played it till he got to the woods!

On the cd i had recorded myself in a strange voice hollering Heeeeelp, saaaaave me.
AAAAAAAh,Help.

He wasn't laughing in the woods but was dying laughing when he brought it back and asked me what it was!

Thats what I like to see:thumbup:

I have always heard bobcats were good to eat,
but i never tried any, don't want any coyote either.

As for myself I leave the carcass in the field, all we have to do to make it legal in my state is to leave it out of the general public

Hi and thanks for responding to my post;

Yes, I've always heard that too, especially from Mountain Men. I have always heard them say nothing but good about eating bobcat. The folks that settled the west ate them too as did the Indians.

HH and good luck

BobCat Backstrap.

Mix up a dry rub:

Garlic Salt
Onion Powder
Adobo seasoning
Old Bay Seafood Seasoning
Oregeno or Crushed Bay leaves (what ever you want)

Mostly equal parts, I usually just make up a jar so I have it for steaks so I don't know.

Rub down your back straps, cover and set in the fridge for a couple hours or overnight.

Slap them on the grill until around Med. and enjoy. Tasty little devil.

right ?

What, about the coyote jerky?
No I'm not kidding, as a matter of fact this guy will send it to whoever want it for free. He frequents a forum called californiapreadtorsclub dot com

I was askin Bob about the backstrap.
I can't believe that anyone would eat any kind of wild cat unless seriously starving.
I can't even fathom why anyone would find pleasure or 'sport' in killin such a majestic animal as a wild cat.
Let-a-lone, eat the meat of an animal that eats meat.
Somethin jist aint right about that :puke:

Hi Jim West Pa, thanks for responding to my topic;

That

Loved your post Ant. If you visit the Views forum you'll understand why some people can't help but post disparaging remarks about what another person believes in.

of everything you said.
And, aware of dominion over all creatures.
And, of the issues with the coyotes.
My post was about the cats.
I was a bow hunter and wildlife enthusiast all my life
but i jist never could grasp the act of killin a wild cat for any reason.
Wasn't condeming anyone for it.
I jist find them one of the most fascinating animals that God gave us
and could never kill one for 'sport'.

Like you jist did ?

i guess you weren't Bob.
I've eaten everything i've ever killed. If i didn't like it
i didn't kill it anymore.
I don't think i could ever bring myself to try cat meat lol
Spose it's like Ant says. has a lot to do with yer culture
and or where yer from.
Or, maybe how drunk you are ? :poke:
ha ha
