Two Etrac questions

OK guys, two quick ones. Does saturated ground make it more "difficult" to detect? I mean more difficult than the same ground when its dry. Also, is there any good targets to dig on the lower right screen on the Etrac? like over 16 ferrous and over 40 conductive? I'm not looking for relics or iron or relics. thanks guys.

you get more depth when the ground is wet but also you get more falseing from leaching Iron
as for the other I have dug a merc or 2 at 17 18 but the conductive never changed for me

hope this helps HH

Yes to both.

I've personally dug wheats with 26 or 27 Ferrous numbers...and I have that on FULL dig video too. Doesn't happen real often. Generally they're 11-17, but not always. You can also hear them, look down and see a 01 Ferrous from time to time.

The wetter ground does make iron sound out better at times.

I was thinking that about the iron, Neb, the ground was under water until a week ago and just barely able to walk on it. Had to turn down the sens to get the chatter to stop.

Ditto for me on this for both old wheats and silver dimes. Consequently, when coin hunting, I accept ferrous down to 27 where it is cut off.

Difficult question and even more a difficult answer.....It all depends on your type of soil, how wet the ground is AND what you are looking for or what your detector detects at the time. There are so many factors to figure into the equation that you have to consider your weakest link and go from there. Sometimes wet IS and should be better but not in all cases.
