Out for a relic hunt, using my two favorite machine combinations with the following coils. The sniper coil works fantastic with the ACE 250 along with theGTP 1350 stock 7"x 10" coil. My first find was a rare penny worth about $40.00. It sure set the mood for the rest of the day.

Here is that 1923 penny, freshly found in the same hole. It was about 6 inches deep in a hard packed trail high up on a ridge. In VF condition, it has an appraised value of $40.00.

The whole days worth of interesting finds. I got a ring......probably gold plated at one time using the sniper coil. The ring was on a steep trail, and buried beside a set of bushes. I would have missed it with the big coil. The sniper coil also got this horseshoe in some real thick brambles where the 7"x 10"coil wouldn't fit. The only other old coin was a 1935 penny, also a good find. The minnie ball was probably fired from an enfield rifle, commonly carried by the early fur traders from the Hudsons Bay Company.

A Close up of the oldest coins and the ring. This was a 6 hour hunt today.

Just managed to get out of the woods before the sunset. My watch said 4:20. Another great day out hunting. No snow and its about 15 degrees above normal. It reached 58 degrees today. Unreal. Last week there was ice on the river.......today there was none.
Tomorrow its "paint the living room" time at home. But a penny-popping session late in the afternoon just might happen! :lol
