two decent hunts near petersburg

GRAY GHOST

hello all. frank and i have hit a new spot south of petersburg twice now. been right warm, but we're still gettin' it! it got to a cool 92 degrees, so we took advantage of it last weekend and today. i dug a messed up yankee button today, as well as some other nice floral, ball, and flat buttons. the capbox finial was a surprise. i think it might be a spur rowel near the bottom, not sure yet. the brass barbed looking thing, i have no idea... do you? frank dug one too.

i also recovered a pair of caisson handles and several other iron buckles. theyr'e all in the tank now. thanks for looking and reading, and good luck.

Great finds, brother. If it will ever cool off down here I am going back to relic hunting. We have had 20 or so straight days of 100+ heat and the humidity is a jillion percent and you just cant stay outside in it long. If it wasnt for wading in the river I would have nothing to do. I will be glad when winter gets here...d2

it's been hellishly hot here too. we've had around 15 days of 100+ heat - it tends to put a real damper on things. it's been our least productive year so far. i'm really considering starting to walk the creek. good luck with your river walking, and don't forget to post up those cool finds! thanks,

Is the small item right above the iron buckle?
