Two Cent Tuesday what a Ring to it!

Headed back out with my buddy early this morning back this time to the spot we hit Saturday.
I was able to get some Wheat's, old Pocket Knife, Hem Weight, Silver Rosie, Horse Tack Ring and some other assorted things.
But my favorite find this morning was a string holed 1868 2 Center. The obverse is worn and the date is only really visible under 16x loop.
Here she is as dug and a pic of the Rosie as dug.

Here she is washed off once home.

Below is a picture of my finds from stop one up top with my friends below. He dug some Wheat's, a Indian and a Token.

I kept only the 2 Center, Rosie and gave the rest to the owner my oldest wheat was 16. My buddy only kept his Indian as well.

We then headed on down the road and got permission to hunt another spot but, for only like 20 minutes.
So, we got right too it.
My very first dig was a screaming peg h.r. and it turned out to be a S.S. Ring. Then I got a 13 Wheat.
Here are my digs from the second stop with junk.

My buddy sadly had no luck here as time ran out real quick.
Upon leaving I talked to the owner and he asked if we found anything. I gave him the 13 Wheat and he said "don't you want this it is almost 100 years old" I said no you keep it.
He then said the reason he said only 20 minutes was he was leaving but, we could come back any other time.
We where thrilled and I am sure the stone of the ring is still in the plug. I did not know it was missing until after we had left.
Maybe I will be able to find my little plug next time to look for the lil stone but, I doubt it.

We called it a day at 2pm and shall return again to both places sometime.

Thanks for checking out my post and HH Hunting Everyone!

I have yet to find a string-holed coin ... nice finds !

"I have yet to find a string-holed coin" Me too. Haven't found a two center either. Congrats :beers: on the great hunt Mike.

LOL, anyone asks what I find...I always say..."A couple of wheats."
Good move as people then get greedy or words spreads like wildfire and your hunting spot is toast.

Nice score on the ring!

Mike, Nice finds! Those 2 centers don't turn up often. By the hole and the wear, I'm betting that one was someone's good luck piece hanging on a pocket chain or cord.
