since my last silver ring with the X Terra 70 (mind you, I have found a few gold ones with it in that time). I was beginning to wonder if I had lost my touch, or I was getting lazy, or the detector just wasn't hitting on them. I have been playing with other toys, so I was also wondering if I was losing my touch with the X Terra, or (heaven forbid) no-one was losing silver rings anymore. A week ago today I decided to go to an old park where I have found very little over the last few years, and put in some hard work. We have had a good amount of rain, and the ground is beautifully soft at the moment.
To cut a long story short, over 3 hunts in the one week the X T 70 and I found 4 silver rings, 3 smaller ones (2 with stones) which all gave readings of 34 - 36 on the meter, and a larger one which gave a reading of 38 - 42.
I was using the 10"x5" 18.75 kHz DD coil and couldn't believe my luck. Running on sensitivity of 17. Found two in one hunt, and one each in the two short hunts that followed. (Sorry, no pics at this stage...tech support is not home from uni. yet, but should be here next weekend, so will try then).
Finding the rings reminded me on how important it is to have a good mindset when we are going detecting, not only in interpreting the signals we get from the detector, but also diagnosing what the target could be as well as what it might be. Thanks for reading, and HH
