"Twins" off to see Dr. Garrett

Leslie(nova scotia)

Well-known member
From the land of the Bluenose...after a rather frustrating night of mall crawling for the last of the Christmas presents I came home and treated myself to some Seagrams on the rocks and started making spaghetti when I heard the "twins" cry out and immediately picked them up and cleaned them getting them for the long trip to Texas to see nurse Mary P and Dr. Garrett. Even Rutgar was dismayed. Christmas will not be the same without them!

We enjoy looking at all of Leslies OUTSTANDING finds. I especially love the Catholic items he shares with us.

But one thing leaps out at me from this pic: He uses 'crappy' detectors without even the benefit of the smallest display screen or any sort of TID features.

"Heavymetal" was just asking about why his detector's TID isn't dead on and will ID things as something else. Naturally, I hadda give one of my long-winded answers, as usual, but then up pops this pic of Leslies "twins". NO TID; awesome finds.

Just goes to show you: K.I.S.S.

Nice reminder, Les and thanks for sharing all your finds with us.

take good care of them i think the freedom series were some of the best garrett made.even though i have newer machines i like them the best.

Yeah Dave the most important feature on any detector and responsible for 90% of its performance is the guy on the other end of it.

I know the feeling of seperation anxiety. It will be over soon, though. Hang tough!!The folks at Garrett down here in Texas will take good care of them. I have a 1000 Ultra that I bought on ebay that had extreme salt water damage and corrosion from battery leaks and for a mere $80 US, it came back with a new display, armcuff and S handle. It looked just like a new one and works like one, too. So, just know the twins will get the best of care and come back home working just like new again. Merry Christmas!!

...from me because its short - Youre so right.
