Just a fantastic day at the lake. I picked up Scott early this morning and we headed south. looks like the ice is all gone, but it sure felt like it wasn't when we were in the water. We both brought along our Garrett Infiniums and some other land and water machines. I got some loot with both my water machines. Scott got the best finds today. He had to give up the Infinium, as his holes were so deep that he got tired filling them in. He switched to his other water machine to go after some more shallow stuff. And great finds he got

Here are my finds for the day. I managed an earring, some loot and lots of junk. Remember when pop cans were made out of metal and a magnet would stick to them? <img src="http://canadianmetaldetecting.com/images/smiles/th_thinking1.gif"> Well, this one fits into that category. :yikes:

You could have told us that gold foil was a gold nugget. By looking at the picture we wouldn't have known the difference. How far are you from the gold fields?

I can drive to gold producing (nuggets) creeks in about 5 hours. The North Saskatchewan river that flows through Edmonton has flour gold in it. I got about 1 1/2 ounces out of it many years ago. It took over 2 summers to get that much. Luckily, the Hospital I was working at was 3 minutes from the river, so I used to take my pump and sluice box down to the river and shovel gravel for a couple of hours a day after work. I gave up sluicing for gold when I discovered metal detecting.....

Nice pics John,
That looks a nice location round that lake, kinda peaceful like.
I can see your all geared up for some DIY with all the screws and bolts, and you should be ok for keeping your hair in place.
