Turning on Backlight causes chatter....Anyone experience this before?

It's getting dark early and detecting time is limited. The last few times I've been out past dusk I've noticed when I turn on the backlight my XS gets very chattery, just like getting close to power lines.

I didn't do this before.

I might take it apart and reseat all the PC board connections. Anybody ever see this before?

Chris

Oh, and did find a 57 Franklin half today.

Chris my explorer11 does this, been doing this for about 1year know, its over 6 years old still works great. the only thing i can figure out is the batteries are getting pretty old and only hold about half the charge they used too. might get a new set of batteries. explorerjim

My E2 used to have a similar problem if I cranked the sensitivity up. I cleaned to contacts on the flat cable that connects to the display board with some alcohol and a Q-tip. It seemed to fix the problem.
