Turn the CTX, and BAM! First target's a silver! 6 silver, Large Cent day!

Had one of the greatest days ever to date. I met-up with a few other MD guys for a hunt at the park, turned on the CTX, and the very first target within seconds was a 1919 Merc.

The day only got better. Found my first Large Cent at 8", and it was a solid 12-44.

Continuing on I was fortunate to find 4 more silver dimes, all between 6-8", and two of the 8" dimes were found in old plugs that I had dug with the E-TRAC. Since the ground is extremely trashy and full of iron, I remember the E-TRAC wouldn't lock on to a target, was very iffy, and I quit digging at 6" thinking falsing.

Well, that is as close to a side by side comparison as we are going to get (if you don't happen to have your E-Trac with you).

Congrats on the nice hunt. I have had a similar experience, finding two silver coins right next to trees that I had been around thoroughly with the E-Trac. The coins were 8" and 9" down, about at the limits of the E-Trac in my soil (CTX as well). But the CTX seems to handle the ground better as well as separate/unmask that much better. One of the signals on the CTX was mostly just a 2 way.

Good job,
Albert

You are finding lots of good stuff, congrats on a great day, that is what I like to hear about the 3030 finding stuff in the junk and iron.

ronfin, shhh!, cool it with all those finds. What we don't need is for everybody to have a CTX. That way there will be more silver for me and you. Just kidding of course. Congratsd on your finds. The CTX really is easy to use for me and apparently for you too. This rocketship is the new industry standard for detecting without a doubt.

Awesome finds WTG congrats:twodetecting::minelab::cheers:

Congrats on some great finds. And not just in places you've hunted before...... but down deeper in holes you'd already dug! Amazing what seeing all the targets simultaneously can do for your confidence! Nice job! So what did the guys you met up with have to say about your finds? HH Randy

Randy, they found some great stuff too! Gary had the oldest finds. He found a Barber dime, a burnt V nickel, and am IH. Jon had some Wheats and a lot of clad. We all had a good day.
