i was asked last nite to play the part of Jesus in a bit of a passion play at our churches service this friday night. My heart and my mind tell me that it jist aint right for any of us to portray our Lord in a play like this let-a-lone a sinner as myself.

Jim, if you are saved in Jesus, you are no longer a sinner, but a Christian saved by His grace into a new creation in Christ. They who truly believe in Jesus' virgin birth, death and resurrection are no longer a sinner and do not continue in our sins by sinning willfully. If we should slip and sin, Jesus is our Advocate between God and man. When satan accuses, Jesus tells the Father that we are His, so therefore no longer does the devil have a stronghold on us!

Pray about the situation of portraying Lord Jesus in the play and ask for guidance to whether you should play the part or not! Listen to His still small voice in your heart and He will lead you in what you should do. If there is no peace for you, then you shouldn't, but after prayer and seeking God, Who can bring peace, then go ahead, as you could play the part of Jesus and show others His wonderful love of loving the world so much that He gave His own life that we might be saved to not be in the Lake of Fire, which is the second death, but never ever dying!

God Bless and let the world see Jesus' light reflected from within you as a Child of God!

I will pray that the Lord will give you direction in this. I also think it is a good oppertunity for you to share the story of Christ with others! :)

Hey Jim...

I'm a musician and have been leading worship at my church for close to 20 years... Do you think I've ever felt "worthy" of such an honor? Nope. However, each time I do it, I'm reminded of how imperfect I am and how perfect He is. I was chosen to do this which is pretty cool.

If God says, "Do", do it. If he says, "Go", go.

Besides that, if you're a guy with long hair and anything resembling a beard, you have to expect to play Jesus at church once in a while. It sure beats gettin' picked to play Santa

My advice, do it. You'll be blessed.

or reinforce that if only one person is touched by the portrayal, it was worth it. I understand your feelings, and can only encourage you to listen to what God leads you to do. But discern, because I sometimes hear a little voice that tells me to do something I know is wrong at times too. But I know who the author of that thought is, and I ignore him!!!

It's pretty cool that you should bring up the musician aspect also. I have been feelin a tremendous calling to put my humble guitar playin abilities to use in the church band during services but i'm jist way too shy so far to persue it.

it was a phenominal presentation. These folks began to practice back in December of last year and it showed. The artistry and make-up were nothing short of a professional presentation. But no matter where i go to see this, no matter how grand or simple the presentation, the TRUTH of the whole matter absolutley brings me to tears and leaves me with WHY ?WHY would He do this for me ?!?!?!? How can anyone on this planet breath the very air He has blessed them with and not believe ?!?!? How can you not absolutely love someone unconditionaly that would and did give thier very life for you ?

still sinners then why did Jesus die and shed His blood for us? It is His precious blood that washes the sinner clean by the confession that we are born sinners and in need of a Savior. If we're still a sinner after washed in His blood, then Jesus died in vain, for we are made holy and pure in Him by believing in Him and obeying His commandments! I am no longer a sinner for Christ lives in me and therefore I am a true, believing Christian saved by God's grace and mercy!

Once we are truly saved, loving and obeying Jesus, we stop sinning willfully! Now this flesh will rise up and wants it's way, but we are to bring it under submission to God's Holy Spirit and when we do our spirit grows and the fleshes selfishness becomes less and less!

I was a sinner but I AM NO LONGER A SINNER.....I AM A CHRISTIAN...A BELIEVER...I am dead to sin (Romans 6:2) and I serve a living Savior...unless I choose to walk away from Him and go back to sinning, willingly, again! I Am A BELIEVER IN CHRIST JESUS AS MY SAVIOR AND LORD! In Rev. 21:8....(KJV) all unbelievers, etc. etc. etc. and all liars (those continuing in their sins which haven't been forgiven) will have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death!

I know I don't deserve salvation but God came in the flesh and took my place to save me from sin's condemation by my confessing them in humbleness to Him! I am a Child of God and an inheritor with Jesus to all God's Kingdom holds! Jesus abides within me and I abide in Him, so I'm no longer a sinner, for He will not dwell (abide) in an unclean temple and each obedient believer's body is God's temple!

May the blessings of our Lord and Savior pour down from Heaven's windows upon you and yours!

God Bless!
Betty
