I'm going next week. Anyone ever detected there? I don't know how I'll make it a week without detecting.

Why dont you take your gear! I dont know whether its legal or not but your hotel should be able to enlighten you. If you go take some pictures for us and find yourself a nice gold reale or soemthing!

Do a search on the forum. I asked the Dept of Natural Resources there and they told me it was no illegal but treasure hunting there is illegal. They stated that several detectors have been confiscated by customs. There are under the Crown Law so whatever you find belongs to the Crown not you. Also most populated areas are in a Natural Preserve and treasure hunting is strictly prohibited. I have been there twice and going again in Sept 08.

On a second note I have spoken to a few who have detected there with no problems. Flip the coin and take your chances I guess.
