Thanks to Gobble-Gobble and R-n-R, I went to the lake to give the detector another go. Again, I decided to dig all targets regardless of 3 colored light indicator.

When I separated the junk from the other clad this is what was left. Lots of pull tabs, dinky cars, and keys.

Total take was $8.75 and again no jewelry.

Second beach, digger Bob was busy digging up a storm.

I decided to dig everything regardless of light indication. Lots of children's toys for playing in the sand. As you can see, the items were varied with lots of bottle caps and pull tabs. I save the pull tabs for the wheelchair programs going on in the schools.

This is what was left after getting the junk out.

Total amount came to $8.45. Also found were these 2 older coins and junk ring.

BHID digs deep with the turbo setting supplied by Gobble-Gobble and R-n-R.

Thanks for looking,

Joel

Glad to see you are digging everything. I think my next trip, I am going all metal all day and dig everything to see what's up. My first trip, I was mostly running in discrim and when in all metal, did not dig any targets that flashed red after 4 -5 tries and seeing everyone of those targets as iron.

That's a lot of targets looks like you had a good day. how many targets that came up red on the lights were actually not iron ?? i rely on the lights to deside weather to dig or not so would be interested to know thanks.

:thumbup:Thats alot of diggin Joel. Were your finds in the water or beach ? Hows your shoulder ?LOL:lol:. Glad your doing well with the BHID. Good Luck,. Boy I can't wait to get to Fl. in two weeks .

Look at all the targets!!!! It's suprising to see how many metal objects litter an area. Good finds on the older coins! I think my oldest so far is a 1969 bahama nickel, lol. It's like having a new detector isn't it? Told ya!

Bottle caps show red than yellow
Some coins showed yellow than blue
Canadian tonnies showed red ,yellow than blue (two metal types)
nails and screws showed red than yellow
dinky toys and beach digging toys showed red than yellow sometimes blue
some pull tabs ,foil, and can tabs, foil bottle tabs showed yellow to blue
bullet casing and lead showed yellow to blue.

So you see why I dig every thing to see what in the sand.
Sound wise it seems to growl more on the ferrous(iron) items.
Still learning the sound part

Really like this detector on the sand now have to get in the water with it.
Easy to handle well balanced and dead on with the pinpointing.

Thanks for the info every bit helps. i normally dig red-yellow just leave the red.

Tabs=GOLD!!!!!!! If gold was under the coil you would have had it!!!!!!:detecting:

The BHID 12" is very hot and accurate on silver too (recently dug a bunch with it)!

Thanks and HH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:whites::usaflag::biggrin:

I have run my BHID in turbo mode since last winter. My experience is the same as Beachunter's iron will always give you a red flash. If it flashes red move on. I mostly hunt in the water and when past waist deep I can't see the lights as they are under water and thats when I scoop iron.. I think the lights are worth looking at. I'm working on a chest harness that will put the lights right up near my face so that I can go deep and still see them. If you dont want to use the lights to help identify hits you might as well have the Whites PI and go for everything.

I chest mount mine, strap over neck, strap around chest, this way the box will not float, stays right on your chest, very easy to see lights in neck deep water & if you need to hit the disc switch, it's right there.
