Well today I finally got the correct trimmers in and they fit like a glove. Also I was sitting on my toggleswitch for the pinpoint button. There were two surface mount trimmers on the board. I assumed one was GB and the other was threshold like the Whites Classic series that I added GB and threshold to in the past. Garret did not mark the trimmers like Whites does so it was a crap shoot on what thier function was or is. I set up my table of tools and components to do the deed. It took me a month with three different companies and countless samples to get it right. The new panel mount trimmers are the correct OHM's and linear in funtion. I do not claim to me very smart in how things work but I'm pretty good at modifying stuff. Anyway after desoldering the trimmers off the board and cutting into the disc pinpoint switch I got the job done. I just been playing with it and can tell you the single most thing I like is the pinpoint toggle. It is just like Whites that is momentary in the pull position and constant on in the forward position and off in the middle. I like to pinpoiunt in the forward position as I really try and zero in on my target. The next is the panel mount trimmers. There were only 2 places to mount them and you can see that in the pics. One trimmer appears to be the visual ID trimmer as I can change the segment posion on high coins in air and ground tests. The other appears to be threshold - not GB. Garrett told me that the GB could not be adjusted and I believe them not unless the Garrett balances different than Whites. But If you want to hunt in true all metal and adjust the threshold then that looks like it will work fine. I will tinker with it the next few days and post back. But for now it looks like the pinpoint toggle is the best mod of the three. The toggle still opens up the ability to hunt in the true aml metal mode and it just feels more comfortable than the thumb button.

John,
I've been a Whites user for 21 years and the toggle is the trick. As it got dark tonight I was unable to tweek the mods. I will try to get some hours on the mods tomorrow and post with the findings. Thanks for looking.

We going to start seeing Mods by Khouse now on the 250 models. Just the trigger along is a great mod. I love the one on my M6 and think your success of this is awesome. You going to send out plans and parts needed to those who want it. I sure would..good job

Bill,
Where exactly would you want the switch? Would it be a click on and off or momentary. The biggest problem is finding small switches to fit in the small tubing.

The toggle on mine feels like a pistol trigger. I like being able to lock the toggle forward to find some of the lost targets after you dig a hole instead of putting the detector in the all metal mode.

I was going to send a pic but my scanner froze up. I'll send one tomorrow. It would be a concave shaped switch either three-way toggle or straight compression and mounted in the top front of the grip.
