Since I really wasn't able to hunt much this holiday weekend, I got out today for several hours. I started out at a beach that I knew had seen a lot of traffic, as I had seen the beach on Sunday, jam-packed with folks. I started working an in-and-out pattern at the right end of the swimming area, slowly edging my way across the swimming area to the left. I wasn't getting much. Then I managed to get a couple of quarters, freshly dropped, and eyeballed a $1 bill on the bottom. I didn't get much after that for an hour or so. I did manage to step into a couple fresh holes. I wish whoever digs them would fill them in. I noticed an older gent swinging a White's DFX up on the dry sand. We talked for a bit, discussing machines, finds, where to go hunting, etc. I headed back out to another part of the swimming area, as the part I started in was fairly devoid of targets. After probably another 20 - 30 minutes, I got a signal in stomach-deep water that just screamed at me, and when I flipped to 0 Disc, same in solid mid-tone. On my second scoop, I recovered this:

Yes! 14K, 6g, 5mm wide, size 10 1/2 white gold. First piece of 14K for me in two years.

I hunted around for a little longer, then headed out for a different lake. Once I got there, I recovered a lot of clad, and some junk, but no jewelry. Here's the nut, minus the dollar bill:

Note: the picture(s) might not show up due to bandwidth limitations. If the picture(s) are not there, check back at a later time.

Although, it looks like it's been sitting on the bottom since last year. It was stained on one side when I recovered it.

This is actually my second gold ring this year. The first came out of my old swimming hole that I researched this spring. But, the season's off and running. Hopefully I'll be posting more this summer!
